World, and that the process is irreversible. The boy ignores him,

In his arms as her ragged breathing begins to
Slow
After a few more halting breaths, it stops
Altogether. The boy begins to cry
He covers his eyes as his
Tears fall onto the girl’s unmoving body
As he weeps, the blue light ignites in his hands
Once more
Slowly at first, and then in a torrent, it begins to
Spill out of him and into the girl. Faster and faster
The light flows, brighter and brighter, until all at
