It’s daytime, all the neighborhood kids is outside
'Bout to get some ice cream and enjoy it
I’m in the house but I’m 'bout to go out there
And join them
Finish dinner early, mom said I could go after I eat
I hear the truck in front of my crib, across the street
My thing was the ice cream sandwich Neapolitan
'Cause when it came to flavor, had a little bit of all of them
Strawberry, vanilla, chocolate
I used to call it a Napoleon cause I didn’t know how to pronounce it proper yet

Then I would get a paper plane
You know the ones you put together with styrofoam pieces and a plastic propeller
In the fantastic weather I would throw it in the air
It floats like black liquor store bags in the wind
Now I’m gonna go put my ice cream in the freezer
And save it for later 'cause I’m gonna eat it in the evening
Look right, look left, took a couple steps
Then a car came around the corner
Hit me and broke my leg
